Bookmark Contest for students in religious education programs and home school students

National Vocations Awareness Week 2025

The Diocese of Lake Charles Office of Vocations invites students across the Diocese to participate in an art contest in which they might share their artistic talents with those across the Diocese.  We invite students to depict this phrase as it relates to Vocations to the Priesthood and Consecrated Life:

“They appointed presbyters for them in each church”
Acts 14:23

This art contest invites students to use their artistic talents to create works that reflect our universal call to holiness and promote awareness of vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life within our diocese.

Religious Education Programs and Home School Students-Submissions should be mailed or dropped off to the Chancery no later than Monday, November 17.  Address is listed below:

The announcement of winners will follow shortly after all bookmarks are collected.  The winners will have their artworks featured on vocation prayer bookmarks for students throughout the Diocese.

 Specifications:

·Students must be in Middle School or High School and attend Mass in the Diocese of Lake Charles or be enrolled in a Catholic School within the Diocese of Lake Charles. (Catholic School Students will do this in their schools and each school will turn in any submissions).

·We ask that students create a piece of artwork that highlights its meaning/impression as it relates to the vocation to the priesthood and/or consecrated life.

·The artwork may be in any medium.

·The Bible Verse should appear in/on the artwork in some readable format.

·The bookmark is to be submitted on the template linked below and must include all of the information requested to be considered.
